International Telecommunications Union The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), working with the Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANC), ran a maturity assessment of Timor-Leste's Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) from 27 to 29 February 2024 in Dili. On the first day, there were interviews with members of the Timor-Leste Computer Security Incident Response Team (TLCSIRT), and information on the CIRT Maturity Assessment, which uses the ITU CIRT Maturity Framework based on the SIM3 model.
The second and third days covered technical training and exercises such as cyber-crisis management, and introduced some tools for the platform Cyber Threats Intelligence and security incident response.
About 20 participants took part, representing several government agencies and academia.
The national assessment of Timor-Leste's CIRT maturity will give key recommendations to TLCSIRT to make it more effective in improving cybersecurity in the country.
