Dili, 06/02/2025 – The Technical Administrator of the ANC Board, Mr Novelino dos Santos, met the technical staff of the Licensing Unit to get an update on their work. The Licensing Unit works closely with the Regulation Section to regulate and supervise the management, allocation and assignment of telecommunications resources, such as radio-frequency spectrum, for these services: a. Internet Service Providers (ISP); b. broadcasting (AM/FM radio and television); c. land mobile radio; d. terrestrial fixed services; e. aeronautical mobile; f. Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI); g. ship stations; h. earth stations; i. VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal); j. amateur radio. The purpose of the meeting was to set up an integrated, independent team free of conflicts of interest to: put in order the licensing documents of existing operators whose licences have expired; process licence renewals; and process new registration applications. The meeting also focused on work discipline, preventing conflicts of interest, protecting confidential documents and keeping good working relations among all staff, and confirmed the principles of neutrality, integrity and transparency in licensing, with professional standards and following only the legal procedures that serve the national interest.
